What can I expect at my appointment?

Our goal is to be a safe place where you feel valued and supported. All our services are completely free and confidential.

1. Book an Appointment

We always welcome walk-ins, but we would encourage you to book an appointment so that an advocate is available to meet with you as soon as you come in. As much as possible, we offer same day appointments. You are welcome to bring someone with you – a partner, friend, parent, etc. We are also here for them if they need help processing or have any questions.

2. Arrive at the Centre

We are located at 60-B Tupper Street North, on the corner of Tupper Street and Lorne Avenue, just before the bridge and next to Youth for Christ. There is free two-hour parking available on the street. If you don’t have a way to get to the centre, we might be able to help you with travel. Our outside door is usually locked for safety reasons, so please just knock or ring the bell, and we will welcome you in.

3. Enter Reception

Once at the centre, you will be greeted by a friendly face in our comfortable reception area. You will be asked to read over some forms explaining what services we do and do not provide. We will gladly walk through those forms with you if English is not your first language or you would prefer a verbal explanation.

4. Meet with an Advocate

The next step is to meet with a kind and compassionate client advocate in one of our support rooms. Your advocate desires to walk alongside you and explore the ways we might be able to support you. This first appointment may be about an hour long, depending on your needs, but you are welcome to leave at any time. Our services are permission-based and optional. Even when sharing information with you, we will always ask your permission first.

5. Access Resources

We are client-led and desire to meet you where you are at and extend the help that you need and would like to receive. We have many free resources and tools available here at the centre, but if PPSC is not a good fit for your needs, we will help connect you with other community resources.

“Each time we entered the centre, we were greeted with love and felt so safe and cared for.”
