About Us
Who Are We?
PPSC is a charitable, faith-based, non-profit, community care organization that provides pregnancy-related support services.
We believe no one should have to face unexpected pregnancy alone or feel they don’t have options.
Mission
Acknowledging that every individual has intrinsic worth and value, we are a Christ-centered ministry in Central Plains whose primary mission is to offer compassion, hope, resources and support to anyone facing pregnancy-related situations.
Commitment of Care
We desire to create a safe space that empowers individuals to make fully informed decisions by offering accurate information and supporting them in making decisions that are consistent with their values. We help create options by offering programs and free services that address cultural, social, spiritual and economic concerns and pressures faced by individuals in our community and provide supports for all pregnancy outcomes.
Our Team
Our team of trained staff and volunteers has been supporting women and their loved ones since opening in 2018. We’re here to answer questions, present options, and offer non-judgmental support.
Governance and Leadership
We value integrity and accountability, which is why PPSC operates under the leadership of an Executive Director and is governed by a Board of Directors.
Centre Accreditation
We endeavor to provide the highest quality of care through all our services. As part of our commitment to excellence, PPSC has successfully completed Pregnancy Care Canada’s Next Level Accreditation.
Financial Information
We desire to be good stewards of that which has been given to us. All our services are free, and we receive no government funding. Our annual revenue comes from the private donations of individuals, businesses and churches. We are a charity registered with the Canadian Revenue Agency (#70359 3327 RR0001) and are further accredited with the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities. Our annual audited statements are available upon request.
This past year, we were honored to receive the Portage la Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce’s Best Business Award for “Outstanding Not-for-Profit of the Year”. We are so grateful for the privilege of serving the women, men and children of our community.

“This is a place I can come where people care, and I can talk without being judged.”

A few clarifications…
-
All the staff and volunteers at the centre are Christians. We believe every person has intrinsic value and is worthy of love, care and compassion. Our love for those in our community flows out from the love, grace and compassion that Jesus has shown and modeled to us.
-
Not at all. We invite those of all faiths to access our free services. We are here for all of Central Plains and surrounding area, regardless of race, colour, religion, creed, national origin, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, lifestyle, or other arbitrary circumstances.
-
For all support provided, we follow a permission-based approach. Whether sharing information about pregnancy options or having a spiritual discussion, we ask for permission first and let the client decide.
We acknowledge that every one of us has practical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and so we provide holistic comprehensive care to individuals dealing with an unexpected pregnancy.
